STEP 10 - BEDROOM HACKS

broken image

The BEDROOM is another room of the house where you spend private time in an essential activity that is so important we spend nearly a third of our lives engaged in it.

We’re talking about sleeping here!

Sleep is so important to our physical, mental, and emotional well-being, but too many of us don’t get the sleep we need.

Essential Oil hacks to the rescue!

SNORING

You’re trying to sleep, but your partner sounds like a chainsaw. Or maybe you’re aware that YOUR snoring keeps your spouse up at night and you feel bad about it. But you can’t control what you do in your sleep.

Can you?

Believe it or not, many people have found relief from snoring (or from their spouse’s snoring) with Essential Oils. Here are a few favorites and how to use them:

Thyme Essential Oil: Apply topically to the big toe.

Respiratory Blend: Diffuse three to five drops near your sleeping area.

Grounding Blend: Dilute with Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply to the chest.

Try one or more of these suggestions to help relax and promote feelings of clear nasal passages and airways, two things that may contribute to a quieter sleeping environment.

LUSCIOUS LINEN

There are few bedroom annoyances less appealing than slipping between clean sheets straight from the linen closet and inhaling that sat-in-the-closet-too-long-odor.

You can help avoid this by spraying your linens before putting them away. Or spray to refresh (especially sheets) between trips to the washing machine.

Or try this:

CALM AND GROUNDING LINEN SPRAY RECIPE

• 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil

• 5 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil*

• 1 to 2 tsp. Witch Hazel

Put Essential Oils in a 2 oz. spray bottle. Add witch hazel and top with water. Shake and spray to keep linens smelling fresh.

*If you don’t have Sandalwood, Frankincense Essential Oil would make a great substitute.

SET THE MOOD

Okay, so sleep isn’t the only activity that takes place in the bedroom. Let’s talk about romance!

Sometimes, due to health issues or stress, it can be difficult to get into a romantic mood. The following Essential Oils can help you relax and feel more amorous at the same time:

• Jasmine

• Black Pepper

• Cinnamon

• Ylang Ylang

• Clary Sage

There are several ways to use these oils to set the mood:

• Place one or two drops in a diffuser.

• Place several drops in a glass spray bottle, top with water, and spritz on sheets and/or pillowcases.

• Dilute one or two drops with Fractionated Coconut Oil and wear as a perfume.

QUESTION – DO YOU OR DOES SOMEBODY IN YOUR FAMILY SNORE?
